Coinbase Commerce Alternative 2026: Hosted Checkout to Your Wallet

Coinbase Commerce closed on 31 March 2026. The Commerce portal is permanently inaccessible. You cannot create charges there, and Coinbase will not move your Commerce history into anything else.

The remaining question for a Coinbase Commerce alternative 2026 search is not “who is #1.” It is which job you still have.

Quick answer: if you need Coinbase Business — a US or Singapore legal entity, Coinbase custody, a bank offramp, and books — go there. If you used Commerce as hosted checkout that paid a wallet you controlled, and you do not have (or do not want) that Business stack, FinCobra Checkout is that lane: invoices, /pay/:id, API, HMAC webhooks, settlement to your wallets. It is not Coinbase Business. It cannot replace Coinbase Business.

This page is a fit filter. Coinbase Business vs a wallet gateway is the same decision, so it lives here. There is no second URL.

What actually shut down

Coinbase’s own transition page is the source, fetched 2026-08-27.

Commerce was built for merchants who self-custodied volatile assets. Official comparison table: 1% transaction fee, self-custodial, open globally with no KYB, payment links (UI + API), hundreds of assets, no custody or bank offramp.

After 31 March 2026:

  • The Commerce portal is permanently inaccessible.
  • History does not transfer to Business. Export was a pre-deadline task.
  • The Commerce withdrawal tool is off. Funds are inaccessible via Coinbase.
  • Commerce wallets were seed wallets. Coinbase never held the seed and cannot recover it.
  • Bitcoin and other UTXO balances may be practically inaccessible if you only have the seed: Commerce made a new address per payment, and a normal wallet scan often stops after the first 20 unused addresses.

US and Singapore merchants were told to apply for Business. Everyone else was told to move to an alternative provider. Coinbase also wrote that Business may not be the right fit for everyone — including merchants who wanted the self-custodial, any-asset shape of Commerce.

If you still have a seed and leftover UTXO, that is a wallet-recovery problem, not a checkout-vendor problem. Do not wait for Coinbase to reopen the portal.

Coinbase Business is an operating account, not a wallet gateway

Coinbase Business is an all-in-one crypto account for businesses. Official availability: United States and Singapore, with plans to expand. You apply, complete KYB, and Coinbase holds the balance.

That is a different product from Commerce.

Two Coinbase surfaces that are not Commerce replacements:

  1. Onramp — fiat → crypto for an end user. That is a buyer tool, not merchant wallet checkout.
  2. Payment Acceptance / Shopify — platform / merchant-of-record infrastructure. It is not a self-serve global clone of Commerce.

If you need the operating account, stop shopping gateways. Apply at coinbase.com/business. FinCobra cannot give you Coinbase custody, a Coinbase bank file, Coinbase books, or US/SG KYB.

FinCobra numbers are from product truth, not from a Coinbase page. Recheck Coinbase Help the day you apply — Business fees are behind login except the 1% migrating-merchant line.

Choose Coinbase Business if

Choose Business if most of these are true:

  • You have (or will form) a US or Singapore legal entity and you will complete KYB.
  • You want Coinbase to custody the money. Offramp, yield on idle USDC, and simplified ops are the point.
  • You want USD to a bank, accounting integrations, and an operating account — not an xpub.
  • The formal payments suite is enough: customers pay USDC / USDT as documented; you settle USDC in the Business account. Bitcoin as a “we can receive it” side door is fine; you are not buying a Commerce-style any-asset gateway.
  • You were a Commerce merchant in US/SG and the 1% migrating price is the deal you were offered. You still sign in to see current Business fees for everyone else.

If that is you, use Coinbase Business. Do not talk yourself into a wallet gateway to keep a Coinbase logo you no longer have.

Choose FinCobra if

Choose FinCobra Checkout if most of these are true:

  • You used Commerce as hosted self-custodial checkout and you still want that job: create an invoice, send the buyer to a hosted page, get a signed webhook, funds land in wallets you control.
  • You cannot or will not become a Coinbase Business customer (no US/SG entity, or you refuse custodial + bank + books). FinCobra does not replace that stack.
  • You will live on the documented rails only: Bitcoin via xpub/ypub/zpub; USDT and USDC on Ethereum; USDC on Arbitrum One and Base; USDT and USDC on Solana. Not hundreds of assets. Not native ETH. Not Lightning. Not “any token.”
  • 0.5% PAYG after the first $1,000 of paid invoice volume is acceptable. Billed monthly in arrears.
  • You are a technical merchant. API keys and HMAC webhook signatures are normal. Donation pages and the mobile PWA are optional extras, not the reason to switch.

FinCobra still hosts checkout, monitoring, and billing. “Self-custodial” here means no merchant spend keys and no FinCobra-held balance — not “we disappeared from the stack.” Prefer direct wallet settlement.

Other lanes (siblings, not clones)

These are different jobs. Use the live post; do not treat this page as a second comparison URL.

Do not pick from a “top 7 Commerce alternatives” table. Pick the operating model.

How the FinCobra path works

  1. Configure receiving wallets (Bitcoin xpub; USDT/USDC on the chains above).
  2. Create an API key and webhook secret.
  3. POST an invoice. Redirect the buyer to https://fincobra.com/pay/:id.
  4. Verify the HMAC webhook. Fulfill on confirmed invoice state, not on the browser redirect.

Docs: fincobra.com/docs/checkout. Billing: Free Start $1,000, then 0.5% of paid invoice volume, monthly arrears — billing.

What this is not: Lightning, Shopify, fiat, cards, bank settlement, any-token, or MCP tools that ship today. Woo is a private pilot and is not for sale on this page.

How to decide in one pass

  1. Need Coinbase Business (US/SG, custody, bank, books)? → coinbase.com/business. Stop.
  2. Need Onramp (buyer fiat → crypto) or Shopify Payment Acceptance (platform / MoR)? → those Coinbase products. Neither is a Commerce clone. Stop.
  3. Need your own node and 0% software fee? → BTCPay. Stop.
  4. Need a bank without Coinbase? → CoinGate or BitPay. Stop.
  5. Need hosted invoices that pay your BTC / USDT / USDC wallets, no processor balance, no US/SG operating account? → FinCobra is in the set.
