Plisio Alternative: Fee Headline vs Wallet Settlement

If you are searching for a Plisio alternative, you are usually deciding one thing:

Do you want a 0.5% gateway with a 15+ coin catalog, a public Woo zip, and a donation kit — or do you want documented wallet rails and settlement that is not a processor balance?

Those are different products. The 0.5% headline does not settle that split.

Quick answer: stay on Plisio if you need their coin table (BTC, ETH, XMR, TRON, TON, SOL stables, and the rest of the published list), a donation button / page / QR kit, mass payouts, White Label at 1.5%, or a public WooCommerce zip you can upload this week. Look at FinCobra Checkout only if you want settlement to wallets you already control on the documented rails — BTC via xpub, USDT/USDC on named chains — at Free Start $1,000 then 0.5% PAYG, with no Plisio-style account balance to withdraw from.

This is a fit filter, not a “#1 Plisio alternative” listicle. They win catalog and donations. We will not out-coin them.

The split that actually matters

Plisio’s homepage and Woo page sell a fee headline and a direct-to-wallet slogan. The ops pages describe something else: a Plisio wallet, balances, and a Withdraw button.

On 2026-08-26, Can I use Plisio as a cryptocurrency wallet? says Plisio “offers a cryptocurrency wallet service” where you “store and manage your cryptocurrencies” and “manage your balances.” How can I make a transfer from an account? is: log in, pick a currency, click Withdraw. How to send tokens and pay the fee tells you to top up the native-chain balance on Plisio before a token withdrawal. Getting started tells you to monitor transactions and balances. The homepage API samples are getBalances and createMassWithdrawal.

That is a processor balance. Quote those pages, not the slogan.

FinCobra Checkout is a hosted coordinator. You configure wallets. Buyers pay on a hosted /pay/:id page. HMAC webhooks report state. Funds go to your wallets. There is no FinCobra-held merchant balance and no withdraw screen.

If the job is “accept 15+ coins, donate from a kit, batch payouts, brand the checkout,” Plisio is built for that. If the job is “name the rails and keep settlement off a processor balance,” FinCobra is the narrower tool.

Plisio numbers from Fee Information, White Label fee FAQ (0.5% API; 1.5% = 0.5% + 1% White Label), wallet FAQ, withdraw FAQ, token-fee FAQ, Woo plugin, and donate page. Recheck those pages — Enterprise “personal fees” are not a public table.

Choose Plisio if

Choose Plisio if most of these are true:

  • You need the published coin catalog: BTC, ETH, XMR, TRON, TON, SOL, and the stables on those chains in the fee table. FinCobra will not grow into a 15–28 coin list to win this comparison.
  • You need their donation kit: button, link, QR, custom page, 15+ coins. That is a real public product. They win it.
  • You need a public WooCommerce zip this week. Their install path is download plisio-gateway-for-woocommerce.zip → Upload Plugin → API secret. FinCobra has no public Woo.
  • You need mass payouts (0.5%) or White Label (1.5%, no “Powered by,” no redirect). FinCobra has neither.
  • You are fine with a Plisio wallet / balance / Withdraw flow, including topping up ETH or TRX on Plisio to move tokens out.

If that is the job, use Plisio. The 0.5% API line is a real offer. So is the catalog.

Choose FinCobra if

Choose FinCobra Checkout if most of these are true:

  • You want settlement that is not a processor balance. BTC to unique addresses from your xpub/ypub/zpub. USDT/USDC to wallets you configure. No Plisio wallet to withdraw from. No “top up the native balance on the gateway” step.
  • You will live on the documented rails only. See the Checkout docs. Not a 15–28 coin catalog. Not native ETH. Not XMR. Not TRON. Not TON. Not Lightning. Not “any token.”
  • 0.5% PAYG after the first $1,000 of paid volume is the fee you want — compared to Plisio’s 0.5% API line, not pretended against their 1.5% White Label or BEP-20 / TON exceptions if those are the job.
  • You do not need their donation kit, mass payouts, or White Label.
  • You accept that WooCommerce is a private pilot, not a public zip. woo-demo.fincobra.com is a demo. No Shopify.

FinCobra still hosts checkout, monitoring, and billing. Custody clarity here means no merchant spend keys and no FinCobra-held balance — not “we disappeared from the stack.” If you want zero hosted coordinator, that is BTCPay Server. See the BTCPay Server alternative.

Official pages disagree on custody

Do not decide this from a slogan.

Slogan pages (2026-08-26): the Woo plugin page says “We transfer payments directly into your wallet (we do not hold clients’ money)” and “just use your own wallet.” Content posts on plisio.net still call the product non-custodial.

Ops pages (same day):

Quote the ops pages. A product that stores balances and exposes Withdraw is not the same settlement model as funds landing in wallets you already control.

FinCobra’s model is the second one. Read what non-custodial checkout means for the vocabulary. For a fiat-gateway fork, read CoinGate alternative. For a 300+ coin custody-balance fork, read NOWPayments alternative.

Fees, honestly

Do not shop the homepage “only one fee of 0.5%” in isolation.

Plisio (Fee Information + White Label FAQ, 2026-08-26): API accept = 0.5%. White Label = 1.5% (their FAQ: 0.5% invoicing + 1% White Label). Mass payouts = 0.5%. Cash-out = 0.5%. The same table prices BUSD and USDT BEP-20 at 1% API / 2% White Label, and TON / USDT-TON at up to 5% API / 6% White Label. Several ERC-20 / TRC-20 / SOL stables list a minimum dollar fee. Network fees sit on top. You can push the service fee to the payer in store API settings. Enterprise “personal fees” are not posted.

FinCobra Checkout: first $1,000 paid volume free, then 0.5% PAYG, monthly arrears. You pay chain network fees on the settlement you configured. There is no White Label line because there is no White Label product. There is no mass-payout line because there is no mass-payout product.

A $10,000 API month on Plisio is about $50 before network fees and before any BEP-20 / TON exception. FinCobra PAYG after Free Start is $50 on volume above the $1,000 allowance in the first month, or $50 on the full $10,000 later — in crypto, to your wallets. A $10,000 White Label month on Plisio is about $150. Do not call 0.5% “the same as Plisio 0.5%” if the job is White Label, TON, or BEP-20 stables. Those jobs are theirs, at their table.

If you then sell FinCobra-settled crypto on an exchange, add that spread yourself.

Catalog and donations, without the stretch

Plisio wins the catalog. The fee table is a real 15–28 asset list: ETH, BTC, XMR, TRON, TON, SOL, and stables on those rails. Homepage copy is “15+ supported coins.” Donation copy is “accept any crypto.” FinCobra does not have that catalog. We will not pretend we do.

Plisio wins donations. Donate page is a public kit: button, link, QR, custom design, 15+ coins. If donations-across-the-catalog is the job, stay there.

FinCobra wins documented wallet rails and custody clarity. That is a smaller product on purpose.

WooCommerce, without the stretch

Plisio ships a public Woo zip. That is a reason to stay if a cart plugin is the requirement.

FinCobra does not have a public WooCommerce plugin. Woo is a private pilot. The public proof is the WooCommerce demo shop, which runs hosted checkout end to end. There is no public WordPress.org listing. There is no Shopify plugin. /shopify on Plisio 404’d today; their What is Plisio FAQ still lists Shopify. Neither “wallet settlement” nor a 0.5% line makes FinCobra a Shopify Plisio alternative.

If you need production Woo from a zip this week, Plisio wins.

How to decide in one pass

  1. Need the 15+ / fee-table catalog (ETH, XMR, TRON, TON, SOL stables, “whatever they hold”)? → Plisio. Stop.
  2. Need the donation kit, mass payouts, or White Label 1.5%? → Plisio. Stop.
  3. Need a public Woo zip this week? → Plisio. Stop.
  4. Need documented wallet rails and settlement that is not a processor balance, on BTC / named USDT-USDC chains only, at $1,000 free then 0.5%? → FinCobra Checkout.
  5. Need self-host, 0% software fee, Lightning? → BTCPay Server, not either of us as a clone.

See a live walkthrough

If step 4 is the job, take a live Checkout walkthrough and configure your own wallets. Billing is Free Start $1,000 then 0.5% PAYG.

The demo is the private WooCommerce pilot, not a public zip. Use it to watch hosted checkout, then attach the wallets you already control.

Do not ask us to be Plisio with a shorter coin list. That is not the product.
