FinCobra Watchlist Sits Next to MoneyWiz. It Does Not Replace It.

If you already run MoneyWiz for banks, bills, and budgets, and you are looking for a MoneyWiz crypto companion, do not rip out the ledger.

Keep MoneyWiz. Put FinCobra Watchlist next to it.

Those are different products. Watchlist is not a MoneyWiz replacement. It is also not a Monarch replacement, not an Empower replacement, not tax, and it has no stocks sync.

Quick answer: MoneyWiz wins personal accounting. On 2026-08-26 the pricing page is still titled MoneyWiz 2025: Standard $29.99/year; Premium $59.99/year or $5.99/month, with 40,000+ banks on Premium. Watchlist is a SPA/PWA with docs. Sign up with Google or a wallet. Crypto sources: Bitcoin xPub; EVM ETH / Arbitrum / BSC; Solana; Binance + Bybit read-only API, spot only; Hyperliquid by address. PnL is zero-crossing / current-position. Bitcoin xPub is the strongest full-history source. Bank, cash, and property on Watchlist are manual. No Plaid. First 3 crypto sources free, then $1/mo or $10/yr. No MCP. Not local-only.

This is a companion page, not a “#1 MoneyWiz alternative” listicle. Banks that matter stay in MoneyWiz.

The split that actually matters

MoneyWiz is the personal-finance home. You buy it for bank sync, cloud sync, and the rest of the money-management surface. Help 4440730 is explicit: Forex/Crypto tracking uses CoinMarketCap for listed coins. MoneyWiz is not a trading platform. That article does not describe xPub.

Watchlist is the crypto companion. You sign in with Google or a wallet. You add the short source list above. You type bank, cash, and property by hand if you want them next to those sources. You do not move the banks that already work in MoneyWiz.

If the job is “replace MoneyWiz,” stop. Neither product on this page is that job for the other.

Best fitBanks, bills, budgets, 40,000+ bank sync.Companion for the listed crypto sources and current-position PnL.

MoneyWiz numbers from pricing, the App Store listing, help 4440730, help 4440736, help 4440621, and the homepage. Recheck those pages — plans move. Do not quote $4.99 / $49.99 / $19.99 as the live price.

Keep MoneyWiz if

Keep MoneyWiz if most of these are true:

  • The banks that matter already live there. Premium is the plan that sells 40,000+ banks at $59.99/year or $5.99/month on pricing.
  • You want their Online Banking stack. Official help names Plaid and Salt Edge, and says they do not connect directly (4440736).
  • You accept the official provider count as two lines, not one: the homepage says 4 different data providers; help 4440621 names threePlaid, Salt Edge (Partner), Salt Edge (Original). We will not invent a fourth name.
  • You want Forex/Crypto monitoring priced from CoinMarketCap, not a trading venue, and you do not need xPub (4440730).
  • You want the personal-finance home: banks, bills, budgets. Watchlist will not grow that surface to win this page.

If that is the job, stay on MoneyWiz. Watchlist is not a cheaper MoneyWiz.

Add Watchlist next to it if

Add Watchlist next to MoneyWiz if most of these are true:

  • You will live on the shipped crypto sources only: Bitcoin xPub; EVM on Ethereum, Arbitrum, and BSC; Solana; Binance and Bybit read-only API, spot only; Hyperliquid by address.
  • You want zero-crossing / current-position PnL, with Bitcoin xPub as the strongest full-history source.
  • You will enter bank, cash, and property by hand on Watchlist if you want them there at all. No Plaid. The banks that matter stay in MoneyWiz.
  • 3 free crypto sources, then $1/mo or $10/yr, is the price you want for that companion.
  • You will sign in with Google or a wallet, on the hosted SPA/PWA. Docs. Not local-only. No MCP.
  • You do not need tax software, stocks sync, or a Monarch / Empower / MoneyWiz replacement.

“Companion” means those sources, that PnL, that price, sitting next to MoneyWiz. Not “MoneyWiz with a $10 sticker.”

Where MoneyWiz wins, without the dodge

Bank sync. Pricing sells 40,000+ banks on Premium. Watchlist has no Plaid. A typed bank, cash, or property row is a number you keep current.

Providers. Homepage: 4 different data providers. Help 4440621 names Plaid, Salt Edge (Partner), and Salt Edge (Original). Help 4440736: they do not connect directly. We quote both counts. We do not invent a fourth name.

Forex/Crypto in the ledger. Help 4440730: Forex/Crypto + CoinMarketCap. Not a trading platform. No xPub in that article. If CoinMarketCap prices inside MoneyWiz are enough, you do not need a companion.

The live price vs the stale blurb. Website and App Store IAP tiles match: Standard $29.99/year; Premium $59.99/year or $5.99/month. The App Store description still says $4.99 / $49.99 / $19.99. That description is stale. The App Store title is MoneyWiz 2026; the pricing-page title is MoneyWiz 2025. Quote both.

If you need the bank home, stop. Keep MoneyWiz.

What Watchlist actually is

Watchlist is the hosted SPA/PWA. Sign up with Google or a wallet. It is not local-only. There is no MCP. Docs.

Shipped crypto sources:

  • Bitcoin xPub
  • EVM: Ethereum, Arbitrum, BSC
  • Solana
  • Binance read-only API, spot only
  • Bybit read-only API, spot only
  • Hyperliquid by address

PnL is zero-crossing / current-position. Bitcoin xPub is the strongest full-history source.

Bank, cash, and property are manual. No Plaid.

Price: 3 crypto sources free, then $1/mo or $10/yr.

It is not tax. It has no stocks sync. It is not a MoneyWiz / Monarch / Empower replacement.

Price, honestly

MoneyWiz (official, 2026-08-26): Standard $29.99/year. Premium $59.99/year or $5.99/month. Those are the pricing numbers and the App Store IAP tiles. Do not shop the stale $4.99 / $49.99 / $19.99 description.

Watchlist: first 3 crypto sources free. A fourth crypto source is $1/month or $10/year.

$10/yr vs $59.99/yr is only arithmetic. It is a false product comparison if you still need 40,000+ bank sync. You would keep paying MoneyWiz for the banks and add Watchlist for the companion job.

How to decide in one pass

  1. Need to replace MoneyWiz (or Monarch, or Empower)? → Neither of these is that replacement. Stop.
  2. Need 40,000+ bank sync, Plaid / Salt Edge, bills, budgets? → MoneyWiz. Keep it.
  3. Need stocks sync or tax software? → Not Watchlist. Stop.
  4. Need Forex/Crypto CoinMarketCap prices inside the MoneyWiz ledger, and not xPub? → MoneyWiz is enough. Stop.
  5. Need a companion on the listed sources, zero-crossing / current-position PnL, Bitcoin xPub full-history, manual bank/cash/property, 3 free then $1/mo or $10/yr? → FinCobra Watchlist, sitting next to MoneyWiz.

Open Watchlist

If step 5 is the job, open Watchlist.

Do not ask us to be MoneyWiz. Banks that matter stay there.
