# Crypto Payment Gateway Fees: The All-In Bill

If you are searching **crypto payment gateway fees**, you already know the marketing line: a single percentage on a pricing page.

That number is almost never the bill.

**Quick answer:** the all-in is **headline % + conversion + payout + network hops + custody**. A 0% or 0.5% checkout can still cost more than a 1% or 2% processor once you convert, withdraw, and pay the chain — or less, if you never buy those layers. This page is a checklist plus **dated official cells (2026-08-27)**. It is not a “who is cheapest” ranking. We do not invent unpublished rates. Where two official pages disagree, both are quoted.

FinCobra Checkout is in the set only if you want **wallet settlement** at **Free Start $1,000 then 0.5% PAYG** and you **will not need fiat to a bank**. We have no payout product, no Lightning, and no Shopify.

## The five layers (check these first)

Add every layer you actually buy. Skip any layer the product does not sell.

1. **Headline %.** The processing / service fee on the pricing page. Volume tiers, “starting at,” and plugin examples often disagree with that page — treat the **pricing URL** as the cell, and flag the stale listing.
2. **Conversion.** Customer pays coin A, you want coin B or a fiat amount. Sometimes a second published % (CoinGate payout-with-conversion; NOWPayments multi). Sometimes a locked market rate with no extra published bps (still a spread). Sometimes there is no conversion product at all.
3. **Payout.** Leaving the processor: SEPA, SWIFT, crypto withdraw, min fees, dashboard-only settlement cuts. If funds already sit in **your** wallet, this layer is **$0 from the gateway** — you still pay chain fees when you move coins later.
4. **Network hops.** Payer gas + any processor deposit / internal / payout hop. Wallet-settlement checkouts still pay the chain once, to the invoice address you configured. Custodial default flows often pay it more than once. Miner fees are not a processor %.
5. **Custody.** Who holds the float between “paid” and “in your account.” A processor ledger buys refunds, batched withdraws, and bank rails. It also means a withdrawal screen, a minimum, and freeze / KYC risk. Direct wallet settlement removes the ledger — and removes the bank.

If a listicle only prints layer 1, it has not priced the gateway.

## Dated official cells (2026-08-27)

One cell each. Recheck the linked official URL before you budget a month. Full fee walks we already published stay on those URLs — **do not treat this table as a rebuild.**

The [Woo plugin listing](https://wordpress.org/plugins/bitpay-checkout-for-woocommerce/) still walks a $100 invoice “minus our **1%** processing fee” — **stale vs the pricing page.** | Conversion (fiat settle is the product); daily bank payout; shopper network cost; licensed ledger. 25¢ is per paid invoice. | [BitPay alternative for SMBs](https://fincobra.com/blog/bitpay-alternative-smb.html) |

SEPA / crypto withdraw **free above 50 EUR**. Manual FX **1%**. Refund **0.25 EUR + 0.1%** when the refund currency differs. | Bank rails, weekly settle, MiCA/PI ledger. 1% is processing, not all-in. | [CoinGate alternative](https://fincobra.com/blog/coingate-alternative.html) |

[coinbase.com/business](https://www.coinbase.com/business): completed-payment fee is **login-to-see**. Commerce portal shut **31 Mar 2026**. | Custody + bank offramp on Business (US/SG eligibility on that table). Do not print 1% as every Business account. | Use the transition help page; we do not have a Commerce-fees sibling. |

| **FinCobra Checkout** | [Billing docs](https://fincobra.com/docs/checkout/billing.html): **Free Start $1,000** paid invoice volume, then **0.5% PAYG**, billed **monthly in arrears** on **confirmed / out-of-band** USD invoice volume (amount locked at creation). Unpaid and overpay-above-total do not count. | **No fiat payout product → no payout layer.** Wallet settlement. You pay chain fees. EVM hub documented **≤50 bps**. No Lightning. No Shopify. | This page + [docs/checkout](https://fincobra.com/docs/checkout/) |

High-risk BitPay, Crypto.com Pay payout, and Coinbase Business sticker are **not** numbers we will invent.

## How to add it up (without a fake winner)

Work a month on **your** job, not theirs.

- **Need USD/EUR/GBP in a bank?** You are buying headline **+ conversion + payout + their ledger**. BitPay’s published SMB rung is **2% + 25¢** under $500k. CoinGate’s published Standard is **1%** plus the payout / SWIFT / refund lines above. Crypto.com Pay’s checkout is **0%**; the settlement cut is whatever **Fees and Limits** shows after login. FinCobra **cannot** do this job. Do not subtract 0.5% from 2% and call it savings.
- **Need coin-in / coin-out, processor may convert?** NOWPayments’ two official help pages **do not agree** (0.5%/1% vs 1%/1.5%). Until they do, your all-in is a **range**, plus the hops they document. We will not pick a side.
- **Need coins in a wallet you already control?** Blockonomics is **10 free then 1%**, billed after the fact. BTCPay is **0% software** plus hosting and miners. FinCobra is **$0 on the first $1,000** paid volume, then **0.5%** of paid volume, invoiced monthly. There is no gateway withdraw screen because there is no FinCobra balance.
- **Need 0% at checkout and a bank?** That is a processor with an unpublished or dashboard payout — not a wallet PAYG product.

A $10,000 **confirmed** month, after Free Start, on FinCobra PAYG is **$50** (0.5% × $10,000). That $50 is the **headline + billing layer only**. It is not “$50 vs BitPay $210” unless you also refuse their bank, licenses, and plugins. BitPay at the published SMB cell on forty $250 invoices is 2% + 25¢ × 40 — **on their pricing page**, for **their** job.

## Choose FinCobra only if

Choose FinCobra Checkout only if **all** of these are true:

- You want **wallet PAYG**, not a processor ledger. Invoice → `/pay/:id` → HMAC webhook → fulfill. BTC to addresses from your xpub/ypub/zpub. USDT/USDC to wallets you set (Ethereum; Solana; **USDC only** on Arbitrum One and Base).
- You **will not need fiat-to-bank**. We do not sell SEPA, SWIFT, ACH, cards, or a settlement cut. If payroll needs dollars in an operating account tomorrow, use BitPay, CoinGate, Crypto.com Pay, or Coinbase Business — not us.
- **0.5% of paid USD invoice volume** after the first $1,000, billed monthly in arrears, is a fee you can put on a spreadsheet **today**. You accept chain fees. You accept the documented EVM hub cap of 50 bps. You do not need us to convert or refund from a balance.
- You will live on those rails. Not Lightning. Not Shopify. Not “any token.” WooCommerce is a **private pilot** (v0.1.0, USD one-time, $99/yr at 0% or 0.5%) — not WordPress.org.

If any of those fail, this is the wrong product, even if 0.5% is the smallest public number on the table.

If the last block is you — hosted wallet settlement, public PAYG, no bank rail — book a **live walkthrough** and configure **your own wallets** in the app. Billing: [docs/checkout/billing](https://fincobra.com/docs/checkout/billing.html). Product: [docs/checkout](https://fincobra.com/docs/checkout/).

Do not ask us to hide a payout fee behind 0%, or to beat a 2% bank-settlement gateway on a job we do not sell.
