FinCobra Watchlist vs Accointing (now Blockpit): Monitoring vs Tax Hybrid
If you are searching for an Accointing alternative, Accointing is not a live product.
Accointing is now Blockpit. The remaining question is the job:
- tax reports (a tax-year license), or
- monitoring (current-position PnL on a short source list, at $1/mo)
Those are different products. Watchlist is not a tax alternative.
Quick answer: Blockpit wins tax reports. FinCobra Watchlist is the Accointing alternative for monitoring: a SPA/PWA with docs, zero-crossing / current-position PnL, and 3 crypto sources free, then $1/mo or $10/yr. It does not file Form 8949. It is not tax software, not TurboTax, not a MoneyWiz / Monarch / Empower replacement, not MCP, and not local-only. Sign up with Google or a wallet.
This is a fit filter. They win the tax hybrid. We will not out-report them.
What happened to Accointing
Facts as of 2026-08-26. Brand history, not a live Accointing catalog.
- Blockpit’s Accointing landing states Accointing is now Blockpit. History they describe runs through 31.12.2023. Pre-2023 years were offered as free highest-tier licenses.
- That landing still says 250,000+. When Blockpit pages disagree, use the pricing-page catalog: 160+ exchanges, 190+ chains, 2,500+ dApps, 3M+ assets.
- The 2023 acquisition post said the Accointing platform would shut down “end of January next year.” That post does not name a calendar year. Do not treat a specific official date as settled from that sentence.
There is no live Accointing product URL on this page. The product you would buy today is Blockpit.
The split that actually matters
Blockpit is a tax hybrid. On 2026-08-26, Blockpit pricing keeps tracking always Free against that catalog. You pay when you want the tax layer:
- Tax reports by transaction band: 49 / 99 / 149 / 229 / 549 EUR
- Source of Funds 19.99 EUR
- Blockpit Plus 3.99 EUR/mo, billed 47.90 EUR/year
That is the Accointing job that survived: reports, a tax-year license.
FinCobra Watchlist is the monitoring product. You sign in with Google or a wallet. You add Bitcoin xPub; EVM on Ethereum, Arbitrum, and BSC; Solana; Binance or Bybit read-only API, spot only; or a Hyperliquid address. You type bank, cash, and property by hand. No Plaid. PnL is zero-crossing / current-position. Bitcoin xPub is the strongest full-history source.
If the job is “give me a tax report,” use Blockpit. Watchlist does not file Form 8949. If the job is “watch those sources and current-position PnL without buying a tax license,” Watchlist is the cheaper monitor.
Accointing (now Blockpit) vs Watchlist at a glance

| What it is not | Not a dead Hobbyist / Trader / Pro dollar menu. | Not a MoneyWiz / Monarch / Empower replacement. No MCP. Not local-only. |
| Best fit | Tax reports, SoF, Plus optimization. | Monitoring. Current-position PnL. $1/mo. Not a tax alternative. |
Blockpit numbers from pricing, the Accointing landing, and the 2023 acquisition post. Recheck those pages — plans move. Do not quote the old Accointing Hobbyist / Trader / Pro $79 / $199 / $299 menu. That menu is dead.
Choose Blockpit if
Choose Blockpit if most of these are true:
- You need a tax report for a tax year, priced by transaction band (49 / 99 / 149 / 229 / 549 EUR on pricing).
- You need a Source of Funds report (19.99 EUR).
- You want the tax hybrid: free tracking across their catalog, then a paid license when you file.
- You want Blockpit Plus (3.99 EUR/mo, billed 47.90 EUR/year) for their optimization layer.
- You need 160+ exchanges / 190+ chains from the pricing catalog — not the six crypto sources Watchlist ships.
If that is the job, use Blockpit. Watchlist will not grow Form 8949 to win this page.
Choose Watchlist if
Choose FinCobra Watchlist if most of these are true:
- You will live on the shipped crypto sources only: Bitcoin xPub; EVM on Ethereum, Arbitrum, and BSC; Solana; Binance and Bybit read-only API, spot only; Hyperliquid by address.
- You want zero-crossing / current-position PnL, with Bitcoin xPub as the strongest full-history source. Details: Watchlist docs.
- You will enter bank, cash, and property by hand. No Plaid.
- 3 free crypto sources, then $1/mo or $10/yr, is the price you want.
- You will sign in with Google or a wallet, on the hosted SPA/PWA. Not local-only. No MCP.
- You do not need tax reports, Form 8949, TurboTax, or a MoneyWiz / Monarch / Empower replacement.
“Accointing alternative” here means monitoring. Not “Blockpit with a $10 sticker.”
Where Blockpit wins, without the dodge
Tax reports. Pricing sells tax-year licenses by transaction band: 49 / 99 / 149 / 229 / 549 EUR. Tracking is Free. The thing you pay for is the report.
Source of Funds. 19.99 EUR on the same page. Watchlist has none.
Plus. 3.99 EUR/mo, billed 47.90 EUR/year. Their optimization layer. Watchlist is not that layer.
Catalog. Pricing page: 160+ exchanges, 190+ chains, 2,500+ dApps, 3M+ assets. The Accointing landing still says 250,000+. Watchlist ships the short list above. We will not invent a 160-exchange matrix.
If you need those, stop. Buy Blockpit.
What Watchlist actually is
Watchlist is the hosted SPA/PWA. Sign up with Google or a wallet. It is not local-only. There is no MCP. Docs.
Shipped crypto sources:
- Bitcoin xPub
- EVM: Ethereum, Arbitrum, BSC
- Solana
- Binance read-only API, spot only
- Bybit read-only API, spot only
- Hyperliquid by address
PnL is zero-crossing / current-position. Bitcoin xPub is the strongest full-history source.
Bank, cash, and property are manual. No Plaid.
Price: 3 crypto sources free, then $1/mo or $10/yr.
It is not tax software. No Form 8949. No TurboTax. It is not a MoneyWiz / Monarch / Empower replacement.
Price, honestly
Blockpit (official, 2026-08-26): tracking Free. Tax 49 / 99 / 149 / 229 / 549 EUR by tx band. SoF 19.99 EUR. Plus 3.99 EUR/mo billed 47.90 EUR/year. Those are the pricing numbers.
Watchlist: first 3 crypto sources free. A fourth crypto source is $1/month or $10/year.
$10/yr vs a 49 EUR tax license is only a comparison if you already accepted no tax report. If you still need Form 8949, you are comparing a filing product to a monitor that cannot file.
What Accointing-alternative pages usually skip
Most Accointing alternative results compare other tax tools on form coverage and transaction-band price. That is the right set if you still want a report.
It is the wrong set if you searched “Accointing alternative” because you wanted balances and current-position PnL, not a tax-year license.
Four skips:
- “Watchlist replaces Accointing / Blockpit.” It does not. They win tax reports. We win monitoring.
- “They both do PnL the same way.” Blockpit sells tax reports. Watchlist sells zero-crossing / current-position PnL.
- “$1/mo vs 49 EUR.” True as arithmetic. False as a product comparison unless you already dropped Form 8949.
- A cheaper tax tool. Watchlist is not tax software. The price is lower because the job is smaller.
How to decide in one pass
- Need a tax report? → Blockpit. Watchlist has no Form 8949 and no TurboTax. Stop.
- Need SoF (19.99 EUR) or Plus (47.90 EUR/year)? → Blockpit. Stop.
- Need the 160+ exchange / 190+ chain catalog? → Blockpit. Stop.
- Need a MoneyWiz / Monarch / Empower replacement? → Neither of these. Stop.
- Need monitoring on the listed sources, zero-crossing PnL, manual bank/cash/property, 3 free then $1/mo or $10/yr? → FinCobra Watchlist.
Open Watchlist
If step 5 is the job, open the Watchlist SPA/PWA and read the Watchlist docs.
Do not ask us to be Accointing. That brand is Blockpit now. This product monitors PnL. It does not file tax.
